You Control Your Career – Yes, You Do!
Recently, I listened to a group of people who were are bemoaning their faith as employees in different companies – none of whom enjoyed their job, their boss or their career path. While I respectively listened as they complained and criticized almost everything about their jobs and careers, I really have difficult relating to their issues.
The reason is, I was fortunate enough to choose my career path and really enjoying what I do. It also helps that my natural strengths are being fully utilized in my selected profession. How great is that?
Well, after listening to this group of people, I will state that I’m happy to have made the choice I made. Wait a minute. Did I say, my choice of job? Yes, I did.
This is my tip of the day to everyone who is unhappy in their current position, job or career. You can choose your future and your career. Some of the greatest thinkers that I have studied over the years have all stated that “Everyone has the ability to choose their career and their future.”
It appears that not everyone understands this choice they control. Rather than use all this negative energy complaining, I suggest you redirect your energy into figuring what you enjoy doing, what you are passionate about, and set a course in meet your goal.
My daughter is an excellent example of this as she has continued to follow her passions in life and has continually found matches to her goals. That includes a career where she is utilizing her natural strengths everyday – with great personal pride and happiness. And, she made all the important decisions that placed her in this position.
You can have this type of life also – if you want to. Take an inventory of things you enjoy or you are passionate about doing or the things that you enjoy learning more about everyday. These will give you a indication of possible career choices. Do a personal assessment on yourself to understand your natural strengths and weaknesses. This will open your eyes to additional possibilities for your future.
Take control of your life and make choices for your future that will bring you both happiness and income. Too often, people make choices that only include one – then get upset when they don’t have the other. Remember to include balance in your life choice decision.
