T in Breakthrough equals Trust
This the sixth part of the twelve part series on learning how to Breakthrough to the Next Level.
T in Breakthrough equals Trust
The T was a hard selection of terms due to several words that are meaningful for every breakthrough in your life. The first word that came to mind was Time as in Time Management. You must be prepared to manage your time effectively and efficiently to master any change in life. I also considered the word Thinking. Thinking is one of the traits that more people should engage in for improving their lifestyles and executing performance through life obstacles. Yet, the final decision was Trust. Here is the reasons for this choice…
Most of the time the word Trust is used to describe the foundation for relationships – usually between managers and their people or sales people and their customers. While this is still an important factor regarding relationships and performance, I choose Trust for another reason.
Trust Your Instincts
There are several ways to effectively use Trust in your life. Yet, the three major ways to use Trust in your life. These are…
- Trust in a Higher Power
- Trust in others
- Trust in yourself
Trust in the higher power is pretty much a given. There is a higher power in the universe – no matter what you prefer to call it – and it is in action and influencing your life in many ways. However, it is not my goal to explain this one for you – its your job to listen to your heart. Enough said.
Trust in others is one that will set you up for higher level relationships and performance. In fact, being able to trust others allows you to move into the highest level of relationships – interdependence. At this stage or level there is mutual respect for individuals. This in turn pushes an inner drive for all parties to perform or execute at higher levels of performance. When a person moves to this level, they leverage everyone’s performance. This is the home of high performance and high performing teams.
Finally, the factor that truly makes a difference – Trust in Yourself. When you trust yourself, you are willing to move into the interdependence zone with others due to the confidence you possess in yourself. When a person has self-confidence, well, things get done. There are no excuses or blame – just plain old hard work and results.
One thing that is very important for Breakthrough results, is to trust your own instincts. Too many times I have heard people tell me about their ideas or thoughts, I ask how they plan to launch this great idea, and they respond with – excuses! Yet, many people will take an idea and launch immediately and reap the results of these breakthrough ideas. How does one group succeed and the other group fail? One group has more Trust in their own Instincts. When you Trust your Instincts, you tend to move quickly.
The old saying “The Early Bird Gets the Worm.” is alive and well when you Trust your Instincts. Instincts come with a super conscious flow of energy and need to be acted upon immediately. This shows your sub-conscious mind that you are serious about new ideas and thoughts. Amazingly, you will have more ideas – great ideas – than you can handle when you show trust in your instincts.
Oh, yes. What do you do with the additional ideas? You hand them off to the trusted team members to execute. Interesting method of execution of breakthrough ideas and thoughts. Yet, it is how the world changes – one step with one idea at a time. Enjoy your breakthrough moments!
